Questions You Should Be Asking at Each Visit to Our Office

Questions You Should Be Asking at Each Visit to Our OfficeOne of the keys to good oral health is regular visits to our office. You should try to get the most out of every visit if you want to maintain good oral health. One way to get more from your visits is by asking questions. The hard part is knowing what questions to ask.

Some of the questions depend on why you are at the office while others are questions that you should ask regardless of why you are here.

Getting an Assessment

Most of the visits you make to our office are for regular checkups. At these visits, your hope is to hear that your teeth are fine, and you do not need any dental work other than a good, professional cleaning. When you hear this, you may think that you don't need to ask anything more, but that is not the case. You should get an assessment of what you are doing and ask about how you can improve.

Some of the questions that you can ask are about your brushing techniques. Let us know how you brush your teeth and ask for suggestions about what you can do differently. If you want to know whether you can use a tooth whitening product or mouthwash, you can ask questions about these products. Even when you hear your oral health is fine, think about questions you can ask that could make it even better.

Questions About Getting Older

As you get older, your body changes and this includes your oral health. You need to understand what these changes mean and what you need to know about them. For children, questions about losing the baby teeth or the need for braces are important to ask. For young adults, the thought of the wisdom teeth emerging will raise some questions. For older adults, ways to keep your teeth healthy and white are at the top of the list.

Seniors can ask about how the aging process affects the health of their teeth and what they can add to their routine to keep the teeth healthy. The questions you should ask when you visit the office should try to help you maintain and improve your oral health. That is what we want to help you do.
